Hi, I’m Julia Allmond—founder of Hapkinful, retired midwife from Britain, and former labor and delivery nurse in the U.S. In 2001, I moved to America with four of my five children to begin a new chapter of life. Though my eldest daughter stayed behind in England, we’ve stayed closely connected thanks to modern technology and lots of love across the miles.
Over the past 23 years, our journey in a new country was filled with moments of joy and challenges—but above all, countless acts of kindness from people who started as strangers and became like family.
In November 2022, after overcoming yet another major surgery, my perspective on life shifted. I felt deeply grateful to be alive, and my daughter encouraged me to pursue something that had always brought me joy—travel. I’d already explored much of Europe, but this time, I was going with a new mission: to discover whether happiness, kindness, and gratitude are truly universal.
Encouraged by the words of a trusted physician—Dr. Bajpai of Surprise, Arizona—who once told me, "You're still here because your work isn't finished," I found the courage to embark on a nine-month solo journey across Europe, just five months after my surgery. That journey, made possible by the expert hands of Dr. Ballacer and Dr. Wu in Phoenix, became the foundation for what would become Hapkinful.
During my travels, I was constantly reminded of the kindness of people across cultures and languages. One memorable moment was in Naples, Italy, where I met a fellow Brit, Ian Dance, at the train station. We climbed Mount Vesuvius together (me at a snail’s pace!), and during our conversation, I shared my dream of starting a brand inspired by kindness. Ian suggested incorporating a heart into the logo—and that spark of inspiration led to the creation of the Hapkinful heart.
Kindness, I learned, truly knows no borders. I experienced it, shared it, and witnessed it in beautiful, unexpected ways. These experiences inspired me to build a brand that celebrates joy, gratitude, and the simple power of being kind.
That’s how Hapkinful was born—a name inspired by three little words with big meaning: Happy, Kind, Grateful.
Today, Hapkinful offers a growing line of “Happy” apparel, including T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, pants, and hats—all designed to spread positivity and inspire uplifting conversations. Each item is a gentle reminder to you—and everyone you meet—that kindness matters.
The mission is simple: to help make the world a brighter, more compassionate place, one person—and one piece of clothing—at a time.

Plus a children's story book range about a little girl called Hapkinful and Wiggle the bird who travel all around the world in a big yellow magical suitcase. They have the travel bug and learn a little history of each place all the time learning the social skills of happiness, kindness and gratitude.
