Welcome to Hapkinful!
Hapkinful was founded by me, Julia Allmond, a retired midwife from Britain and labor and delivery nurse in America. With 4 of my 5 children we moved to America in 2001, to start a new life of adventures. My eldest daughter, who was married, remained in England, but keeps in close contact thanks to the wonderful technology we have these days. Throughout the 23 year journey of living in a different country, we, as a family, were shown many acts of kindness from friends made along the way, with many of them becoming family.
My life journey took a transformative turn in November, 2022, after surviving yet another major surgery. I felt so blessed, and my daughter sparked an idea. She suggested I should travel, because that's what makes me happy. I had already travelled extensively around Europe but decided that was where I would head to, knowing that I would find people from all around the world with all languages and cultures mixed in.
My wonderful Dr. Bajpai, in Surprise, Arizona had previously told me in 2016 that I had survived that time because my work wasn't done, I still had things to do. I had no idea what he could mean but 6 years later after another major surgery by Dr. Ballacer and Dr. Wu, in Phoenix, Arizona, who operated on me when no other doctor would touch me, made me realise that Dr. Bajpai might have a point. Those doctors through their expertise and magic hands enabled me to transform myself enough to take on the challenge of travelling for 9 months solo around Europe, just 5 months later, much to my children's worry and despair.
So in April, 2023, I embarked on a nine-month journey across Europe, driven by a quest to find whether happiness, kindness, and gratitude could be found across different languages and cultures. And I found that it most definitely is and does!
I visited many countries on this journey and when I visited Naples, Italy, I bumped into a British man Ian Dance at the train station and we ended up climbing Mount Vesuvius together.
Well mine was more like a snail pace, but we got there in the end. On this climb I explained about my mission of kindness and that I was trying to design a logo for my clothing brand I was creating. Ian suggested a heart, and from his suggestion the logo was created with a heart across the H. Thank you Ian for that inspiration and hopefully the logo will become well known in spreading the vibe of kindness.
My journey led to a profound realization: kindness knows no boundaries. I had witnessed people being kind to me, me being kind to them and others being kind to each other even if they didn't speak the same language. This revelation ignited the idea to create a brand that spreads joy and positivity through clothing and later through songs.
Despite my initial struggles with technology, (I am of the older variety), I was determined and passionate about creating something that could spread the word of kindness. A name was created from the words Happy, Kind and Grateful and Hapkinful was born.
Hapkinful has launched a range of 'Happy' apparel designed to embody the spirit of happiness and gratitude. The collection includes Happy T-shirts, Happy Hoodies, Happy Sweatshirts, Happy Pants, and Happy Hats - each piece crafted to remind you and those around you of the power of kindness.
